Green Genius Installs First Turbine at Jurbarkas Wind Project in Lithuania

The first turbine has been successfully installed at ' wind project in Jurbarkas, , marking a significant milestone for the initiative.

Remaining turbines are currently en route to the site and are expected to arrive before the end of the month. The Jurbarkas wind park's first stage will have a capacity of 63MW, consisting of 11 turbines, and is scheduled to commence operations in 2025.

To facilitate the delivery and installation process, over 110 trucks and heavy vehicles have been deployed, transporting the turbines and other components for the project.

Once fully installed, each turbine will comprise 13 main parts and stand at a height of 240 meters. The second stage of the project, adding another 17MW, is set to begin construction soon.

The entire Jurbarkas wind park, with a total capacity of 80MW, will account for approximately 8% of Lithuania's current wind energy portfolio and will provide green electricity to Lithuanian businesses.

Green Genius is investing over €100m in the construction of the wind park, highlighting its commitment to sustainable energy development.

“We've been working on the Jurbarkas project with great care and consideration, composing one of the most significant wind parks in Lithuania,” said Darius Bieksa, Head of Green Genius' wind and green hydrogen business. “It will contribute notably to the sustainability in the region, as wind energy is a key component to ensure a stable and efficient supply of green energy.”

The construction of the 11 turbines required over 80km of electricity cables to be laid down on the site, while 880 cubic meters of concrete were used for the foundation.
