Primergy Solar LLC announced on Thursday that it has secured California-based community choice aggregator (CCA) San Diego Community Power (SDCP) as the power off-taker for a 400-MW solar project with battery storage in Nevada.
The solar and energy storage projects operator, a portfolio company of Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners, has entered into a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with SDCP for the entire capacity of the Purple Sage Energy Center.
Under the agreement, SDCP will receive both power and the associated green energy attributes, with supplies expected to commence in 2027.
The Purple Sage Energy Centre will include photovoltaic (PV) modules and 1.6 GWh of battery energy storage systems, located between Las Vegas and the California border.
Once operational, the site is projected to generate over 1.2 million MWh of electricity annually, enough to power more than 100,000 households.
This agreement follows Primergy's recent PPA with Microsoft Corp for the future output of a 408-MW solar park in Texas.
