Finnish green energy services provider Enersense International Oyj has announced the early completion of the development phase for 1,000 MW of wind power projects in Finland for French company Valorem, more than a year ahead of the due delivery date.
The portfolio is currently undergoing the land use planning phase and environmental permitting, according to Enersense.
The work was defined in the agreement between Valorem and Enersense Wind (formerly Megatuuli Oy) in May 2022, covering the development of around 1,500 MW of wind projects over three years, including 500 MW of projects already in development. The original due date was set for May 2025.
“We are glad that Enersense was quicker than expected to submit this new 1GW portfolio and excited for our collaboration for the next milestones,” commented Gwenael Jestin, Head of International Development for Valorem Group.
In addition to the development for Valorem, Enersense has a total of 6,900 MW of onshore wind projects in its own wind portfolio. “All upcoming new onshore wind power projects are owned and managed by Enersense solely,” added Sirpa Smids, Vice President of Renewable Energy in the Power business area at Enersense.
