ContourGlobal Ltd, the London-based thermal and renewable power generator, announced the appointment of Antonio Cammisecra as its Chief Executive Officer on Monday. Cammisecra officially assumed the role on February 2, succeeding Joseph C. Brandt, who led ContourGlobal for 17 years.
Bringing with him more than two decades of experience in the energy sector, Cammisecra previously served at Italian utility Enel SpA (BIT:ENEL). His recent responsibilities included overseeing Enel Grids' extensive 2.2 million km power distribution network and playing a pivotal role in transforming Enel Green Power into a prominent player in the renewables industry.
In his new position, Cammisecra is tasked with steering ContourGlobal's investment strategy towards decarbonisation. This strategic shift involves a concentrated focus on renewables and the gradual transition of thermal assets to lower carbon solutions.
Cammisecra commented on his new role, stating, “This is a global trend that I have long been engaged with throughout my career. I look forward to working with the talented management team, my new colleagues, and KKR, a shareholder with an impressive track record of energy and renewables investing that brings a long-term view and is helping to accelerate the energy transition within the Company's portfolio.”
