French green developer officially launched the construction of a new production plant in Lower Saxony, . The facility, situated in the city of Brake within the harbor area of Niedersachsen Ports (NPorts), will boast an electrolysis capacity of 10 MW and a production potential of up to 1,150 tonnes of green hydrogen annually.

To power the plant, Lhyfe has secured solar and wind energy through offtake agreements, including partnerships with EDP Renovaveis SA. This approach aligns with Lhyfe's commitment to sustainable energy sources.

The Brake facility is poised to become the first in northern Germany to offer green hydrogen to the broader market, marking a significant development for the region, as highlighted in Lhyfe's official statement.

This initiative follows Lhyfe's successful commissioning of its first hydrogen production site in the latter half of 2021. In October of the same year, the company commenced construction on another 10-MW plant in the southwestern state of Baden-Wurttemberg.

In an additional announcement today, Lhyfe revealed a collaboration with Canadian electro (e-SAF) producer SAF+ International Group. The partnership aims to explore joint production possibilities for e-SAF using renewable hydrogen in France, reflecting Lhyfe's commitment to expanding its sustainable energy portfolio.
