Sabanci’s Joint Venture Enerjisa Uretim Advances on 1 GW Wind Project in Turkey

's Sabanci Holding revealed on Monday that its joint venture, Enerjisa Uretim, with 's E.ON SE is making strides towards the gradual completion and commissioning of the 1 GW YEKA-2 wind projects in Turkey by Q1 2026. Under Turkey's YEKA tender programme, the YEKA-2 initiative involves the development of four 250 MW wind complexes in Canakkale, Balikesir, Aydin, and Mugla.

Enerjisa Uretim has already commissioned the 25.2 MW Akkoy , the first project in the Aydin region, with construction underway on 185 MW of additional projects. The joint venture aims to achieve 5,000 MW of installed capacity and a renewables share of 60% by 2026.

Additionally, Sabanci announced that Enerjisa Uretim has acquired the Cesme and Dikili wind parks, with expansion rights of 3.6 MW and 19.2 MW, respectively. Furthermore, the Erciyes wind park's capacity has been increased by 13.6 MW to reach a total of 93.6 MW, consisting of 78.6 MW of wind and 15 MW of solar.

In a move towards , the company secured preliminary licenses for three storage projects combining 500 MW of wind energy and 500 MWh of battery storage capacity. Enerjisa Uretim concluded 2023 with 3,792 MW of installed capacity and is making substantial progress in its commitment to renewable energy expansion.

This development underscores Turkey's commitment to scaling up renewable energy capacity and diversifying its energy mix, aligning with global trends toward sustainable and low-carbon energy systems.
