SJVN Successfully Commissions 75-MW Solar Plant in Uttar Pradesh, India

Indian power producer has officially commissioned a 75-MW plant in the northern state of . The Gurhah Solar Power Project achieved its commercial operation date (COD) on December 29, 2023, marking a significant milestone for the company. The project has entered into a 25-year offtake agreement with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL), a local electricity transmission and distribution company.

Situated in the Jalaun district, the Gurhah Solar Power Project was realized at a cost just above INR 4.08 billion (USD 49.1 million/EUR 45.0 million). In its first year of operation, the plant is expected to generate approximately 159.8 million kWh.

SJVN secured the project through a competitive auction organized by the Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Development Agency (UPNEDA), with a tariff set at INR 2.98 per kWh.

This successful commissioning adds to SJVN's growing portfolio, which now includes operational assets with a combined capacity of 2,227 MW. The company's commitment to renewable energy expansion aligns with 's broader goals in promoting clean and sustainable power generation.
