Spearmint Energy has officially initiated commercial operations of its 150MW/300MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) named Revolution in west Texas, USA. The newly operational Revolution BESS is poised to provide essential grid services to the ERCOT market in Texas.
Founder, President, and CEO of Spearmint Energy, Andrew Waranch, expressed pride in the commencement of commercial operations at Revolution, marking the company's entry into the grid-scale storage domain. He emphasized the significance of this milestone as Spearmint solidifies its position as a leader in Texas' rapidly expanding battery storage market.

Waranch acknowledged the collaborative efforts of partners, including Mortenson and Sungrow, for their dedication and safety measures during the construction and commissioning phases. The completion of the project underscores Spearmint's commitment to meeting the growing demand for electricity in Texas, especially in the context of climate change and escalating natural gas and oil prices.
Revolution, a joint endeavor with Mortenson, achieved mechanical completion following the successful delivery and installation of Sungrow's PowerTitan Series battery energy storage system. In October 2023, Spearmint secured a $92 million tax equity investment in Revolution from Greenprint Capital Management.
