Shanghai Electric Powers Up 100-MW Battery Storage System and Connects Fiskerton II-A Solar Site in the UK

Power has officially commenced commercial operations of the 100-MW/100-MWh REP1&2 Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and successfully connected the Fiskerton II-A solar site in the United Kingdom, according to the announcement made on Thursday.

The REP1&2 facility, situated in Kent, South East , and owned by Italian insurer Generali, was developed by Pacific Green and is presently operated by Limited.

Shanghai Electric played a pivotal role in the project, providing a comprehensive suite of energy storage system solutions, including 38 battery containers and 20 PCS containers. The BESS is outfitted with high-performance iron phosphate batteries produced by Gotion New Energy's Nantong factory.

Fiskerton II-A, located in Lincolnshire, marks the culmination of Shanghai Electric's contribution to a series of eight solar projects in the . Notably, this comprehensive solar portfolio, the first overseas endeavor for the Chinese firm, is characterized by Shanghai Electric's involvement across the investment, financing, construction, grid connection, and operational phases. The combined solar projects are anticipated to generate an annual output of 128,117 MWh of green electricity.
