Spanish energy company Repsol has commenced electricity production at its 204MW Sigma PV project in Andalusia, Spain. Representing an investment of close to €150 million, the Sigma scheme encompasses five plants (Arco 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5) located in Jerez de la Frontera.
Repsol anticipates that the completion of the commissioning phase for these five plants, already connected to the grid, will result in the annual production of 430GWh of renewable energy.
The project, declared a business investment of strategic interest by the Regional Government of Andalusia, has played a significant role in the creation of more than 500 direct jobs during the construction phase.

The declaration by Andalusian authorities underscores the perceived relevance of the Sigma project for its future contribution to territorial cohesion and socioeconomic development in the municipalities where it is situated.
Sigma marks Repsol's third solar photovoltaic project brought into operation in Spain. It follows the 264MW Valdesolar project in the Extremadura municipality of Valdecaballeros and the 126.6MW Kappa scheme in Manzanares.
