Vestas Wind Systems A/S has recently announced substantial wind turbine orders totaling 1,076 MW for various projects across several European countries, marking a robust close to the fourth quarter of the year. The contracts, unveiled between December 21 and 31, encompass projects in Italy, Germany, Spain, Northern Ireland, and the Netherlands.
The most notable order involves the Hollandse Kust West VI offshore wind project off the Dutch coast, developed by Ecowende, with a capacity of 780 MW, making it the largest in the batch. Vestas will supply wind turbines for this significant project.

In Germany, Vestas secured two contracts. The first, in collaboration with BayWa r.e., is for the Dollenkamp project in Brakel, North Rhine-Westphalia, entailing the delivery of eight V162-5.6 MW turbines. Scheduled for supply in the second quarter of 2025, the project is set to be commissioned in the fourth quarter of the same year.
The second German contract involves a 42 MW-repowering project, the Schacht Konrad II project, placed by WindStrom Erneuerbare Energien GmbH & Co.KG. Vestas will provide a combination of V162-6.2 MW and V162-5.6 MW turbines, starting delivery in the first quarter of 2025, with completion anticipated in the third quarter of 2025.
In Italy, Vestas secured a contract for a 125 MW wind project, involving the supply and installation of a mix of V136-4.5 MW and V136-4.2 MW turbines. Delivery is slated for the first quarter of 2025, with commissioning expected in the third quarter of the same year.

Northern Ireland's Corlacky Hill wind project, a 47 MW initiative by ERG SpA, has awarded Vestas an order for 11 V117-4.2 MW wind turbines in 4.3 MW operating mode. Vestas will commence delivery in the second quarter of 2025, and the project is projected to be commissioned in the fourth quarter of 2025.
In Spain, Vestas secured an order for six V162-6.2 MW wind turbines, with delivery set to commence in the second half of 2024 and operation expected in the first half of 2025. All these contracts also include multi-year service agreements, providing long-term support for the commissioned projects.
