Vesta has clinched a noteworthy order for a 401MW nameplate capacity to power the West Camp wind project located in Navajo County, Arizona, USA. The project is owned by The AES Corporation.
The comprehensive order encompasses 89 V150-4.5MW turbines, covering the entire spectrum from supply and delivery to commissioning of the hardware. Additionally, Vestas will provide a multi-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement, designed to ensure the optimized performance and longevity of the asset.
Laura Beane, President of Vestas North America, emphasized the significance of the order, stating, “This is a significant order that represents a key milestone for the state of Arizona, and we look forward to partnering with AES to continue the state's growing acceleration of clean energy, particularly with one of the industry's highest producing low wind turbines.”
The timeline for the project involves turbine delivery commencing in the fourth quarter of 2024, with commissioning scheduled for 2025. The West Camp wind project is poised to make a substantial contribution to Arizona's clean energy landscape, aligning with the broader trend of increased investment in renewable energy infrastructure.
