AG Insurance Acquires Significant Minority Stake in Sweden’s Nysäter Wind Farm

-based AG Insurance has inked a deal with Energy Partners (EIP) to become a notable minority shareholder in the 475MW Nysäter wind farm located in the municipality of Härnösand, .

Nysäter stands as one of Europe's largest wind farms, spanning the areas of Hästkullen and Björnlandhöjden, covering 78 km², and commenced operations in July 2022. AG's investment in Nysäter aligns with its commitment to sustainable investment practices, marking a strategic move in the company's green portfolio.

Wim Vermeir, Chief Investment Officer at AG, highlighted the significance of the partnership, stating, “Investing in a sustainable way is one of the strategic goals we have set for AG. I am very pleased that AG has entered into this promising partnership with EIP and that we have acquired a significant minority stake in the Nysäter project.” Vermeir emphasized the company's commitment to expanding its sustainable investment portfolio, citing earlier achievements in surpassing the 10 billion euro mark in investments with a positive impact earlier this year.

The Nysäter wind farm, producing 1.7 TWh of electricity annually, reflects AG Insurance's dedication to advancing its sustainable investment strategy. The collaboration with EIP, formalized through this agreement, lays the groundwork for future joint initiatives in the sector.
