Belgian marine group DEME has inked a collaboration agreement with Greek renewable energy firm , signaling a joint venture to explore and develop wind projects in .

This strategic partnership comes on the heels of Greece's recent unveiling of its draft offshore wind development program, outlining eligible development areas and earmarking 4.9 GW of capacity for mid-term development (up to 2030-2032), with a more extensive goal of approximately 12.4 GW in the longer term.

The collaboration between DEME and FARIA Renewables will involve a comprehensive assessment of Greece's maritime areas to pinpoint optimal sites for offshore wind development. The partners plan to conduct and exploration activities, engage with stakeholders, and actively support the domestic supply chain.

FARIA Renewables underscored the significance of this partnership as a demonstration of its commitment to the burgeoning offshore wind market. Kristof van Loon, General Manager at DEME Concessions, expressed enthusiasm about contributing to Greece's offshore wind market, emphasizing the substantial potential it holds.
