US technology firm Inc has been disqualified from the first Power-to-X (PtX) after failing to provide the required bank guarantee, as confirmed by the . The Plug Power Idomlund Denmark project, with a proposed capacity of 100 MW, had initially bid the lowest price in the tender, but its exclusion leaves five winning projects expected to deliver over 180 MW of electrolysis capacity.

Following Plug Power's removal, a bid by HyproDenmark and Everfuel, initially not fully awarded, will now be offered an increased amount—though still not the full bid—until the budget is exhausted. The joint venture, Everfuel and Hy24, announced separately that it will receive an augmented subsidy of DKK 211 million (USD 30.9 million/EUR 28.3 million).

Plug Power, which filed a going concern warning on November 9, expressed confidence in securing the necessary funds for its ongoing activities. Meanwhile, the European Commission recently launched a EUR 800 million (USD 873 million) auction to stimulate renewable hydrogen production.
