Meyer Werft Secures Steel Construction Contract for Amprion Offshore Converter Platforms

Shipbuilder Meyer Werft has been awarded a contract for the majority of the steel construction work for four converter platforms by . The platforms are part of 's projects, including BalWin1, BalWin2, DolWin4, and BorWin4. Amprion Offshore has commissioned Dragados Offshore and for the construction of the platforms, and parts of the production have been outsourced to Meyer Werft.

The scope of services for the production of platform components at the Meyer Werft shipyard in amounts to approximately 43,500 tonnes of steel. This includes around 32,000 tonnes for the BalWin1 and BalWin2 projects and approximately 11,500 tonnes for the offshore connections DolWin4 and BorWin4.

Peter Barth, Managing Director of Amprion Offshore GmbH, expressed commitment to increasing production capacity for building offshore components in Germany.

The steel construction contract awarded to Meyer Werft is seen as a positive signal for Amprion's offshore projects and the business location in Germany. The collaboration underscores the strategic efforts to strengthen Germany's position in the offshore energy sector.
