Yinson Renewables (YR), a subsidiary of Malaysian energy infrastructure company Yinson Holdings, announced the commencement of commercial operations at a substantial 285-MWp solar park situated in Rajasthan, India.
The Nokh Solar Park, which is now connected to the grid, is poised to generate an ample supply of electricity, satisfying the annual power requirements of approximately 38,000 households. YR's indirect subsidiary, Rising Sun Energy K Private Limited (RSEK), has inked a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with state-run power utility NTPC to procure the plant's output.
This newly commissioned solar facility represents a significant milestone for YR as it stands as the company's largest operational solar project and marks its third operational asset in India. In addition to Nokh Solar Park, YR also owns and operates the Bhadla 1 and 2 Solar projects, each boasting a capacity of 87.5 MWp, and conveniently located just 33 kilometers (approximately 20.5 miles) from the Nokh site.
YR's CEO, David Brunt, expressed his satisfaction with the achievement, emphasizing the growing presence of YR in India, a region of strategic importance for the company. He lauded the dedication of the RSEK team and their unwavering commitment to the company's mission.
