The Superintendency for the Development of the Northeast (Sudene) in Brazil has approved a BRL 28.2 million (USD 5.6 million / EUR 5.3 million) loan, constituting the seventh tranche of financial support for Lightsource bp's 210-megawatt solar power project.
This disbursement will specifically contribute to the construction of three out of the five solar parks that collectively form the Solar do Milagres complex, strategically located in the northeastern state of Ceara.
The funding is drawn from Sudene's Northeast Development Fund (FDNE). The comprehensive investment required for the solar complex amounts to BRL 782.65 million, with BRL 422.95 million being provided by Sudene.
Upon completion, the Solar dos Milagres is expected to yield an annual electricity generation of approximately 460,000 megawatt-hours (MWh), sufficient to meet the energy demands of approximately 212,000 local households.
