Sustainable Energy Solutions Sweden Holding AB (SENS) has announced the finalization of land lease agreements for two solar farm projects, each integrated with battery energy storage systems (BESSs), boasting a collective power generating capacity of 55 megawatts (MW).
The initial agreement, executed within a week, pertains to a 40-MW solar plant paired with an equivalent 40-MW BESS. This project is slated for development near Atorp in Katrineholm Municipality, Sodermanland County.
The second secured land parcel, situated outside Katrineholm, will be dedicated to the establishment of a 15-MW solar power facility accompanied by a battery system with a targeted capacity of up to 50 MW.
The estimated value of the first project, already in a shovel-ready state, falls within the range of SEK 20 million (USD 1.79m/EUR 1.69m) to SEK 40 million. In the case of the second project, its potential value is estimated to range from SEK 16.3 million to SEK 32.5 million, contingent upon the successful acquisition of all project rights.
SENS has been actively acquiring land across Sweden to support the development of new energy projects. Earlier this month, the company announced several additional land lease agreements, including one for a 50-MW BESS and a solar farm capable of generating up to 25 MW. With these latest additions, the company's project portfolio now includes secured land leases for over 330 MW of battery capacity and 75 MW of solar power generation.
