Iqony Solar Energy Solutions and Menapy Commission 12MW Solar Farm for Bekaert in Spain

German solar specialist Iqony Solar Energy Solutions (SENS) and investment partner Menapy have successfully commissioned a 12-megawatt (MW) solar farm dedicated to serving the self-consumption needs of a prominent customer in . This milestone project, nestled in the Castile and León region, is designed to generate electricity specifically for the operations of Bekaert, a renowned producer of steel wire and coatings.

The inauguration ceremony for this solar facility was held in Burgos, a location that aligns with Bekaert's Spanish facilities. The solar park boasts an impressive array of 18,300 (PV) panels, illustrating the substantial scale of this green energy endeavor.

Noteworthy attendees at the inauguration ceremony included the Mayor of Burgos, Cristina Ayala Santamaría, alongside ministers from the Castilian regional government, underscoring the significance of this initiative within the local community.

Óscar Page, the Managing Director of SENS, expressed his satisfaction with the project, emphasizing how their solar-as-a-service offering proves particularly beneficial to electricity-intensive industries in Spain. This solar venture not only bolsters Bekaert's sustainability efforts but also contributes to the broader landscape in the region.
