Energy has successfully acquired a operation license in the Kaynarpinar area of the Karliova district in Bingöl, . This strategic move places the company at the convergence point of two of Türkiye's largest fault zones, previously designated for a health tourism project.

Prior to obtaining the geothermal license, the site in Karliova underwent a series of studies, including shallow drilling and geophysical and geochemical investigations. Encouraged by the favorable outcomes of these studies, IGNIS Energy is now preparing for a more extensive geophysical survey and the drilling of thermal gradient wells in the region over the coming months.

The Bingöl district holds substantial promise for geothermal development, boasting a rich geothermal structure and visible surface manifestations. Thermal springs such as Göynük Haciyan Thermal Spring, Kös Thermal Spring, and Hasköy Thermal Spring are frequented by the local population for their therapeutic qualities.

Notably, IGNIS Energy was recently awarded three geothermal resource exploration licenses in the Bingöl Province, demonstrating the company's keen interest in this region's untapped geothermal potential.

In alignment with their broader objective of attaining a 1 GW portfolio by 2030, IGNIS Energy remains committed to further expanding its presence in this promising territory. CEO Richard Calleri emphasized the significance of making selective technological investments to support this ambition, despite the company's primary focus on traditional hydrothermal systems. One such investment includes partnering with Sage Geosystems Inc., a transformative geothermal development company offering alternative solutions to conventional practices, with the potential to accelerate low-cost development.

IGNIS Energy's dedication to strengthening its position as a prominent developer in the geothermal market is underscored by the involvement of esteemed individuals like Prof. Nathan Meehan, a member of IGNIS's board. Prof. Meehan, who brings a wealth of experience in cleaner oil and gas production and decarbonization efforts, expresses his enthusiasm for contributing to IGNIS's mission to provide safe, affordable, and clean energy for all by harnessing the Earth's heat.
