Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has forged a strategic Power Delivery Agreement (PDA) with Supreme Petrochem Limited, marking a pivotal milestone in the pursuit of clean and sustainable energy solutions. The agreement centers around a robust 12.5 MW group captive project, driven by a dedicated Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) named TP Saturn Limited, nestled in the picturesque landscape of Achegaon, Maharashtra. The project is poised to become a significant contributor, churning out approximately 27.5 million units (MUs) of renewable energy each year.
Supreme Petrochem Limited, a dominant player in India's polystyrene and expandable polystyrene sectors, has embarked on a mission to establish an environmentally conscious ABS plant with a production capacity of 70,000 metric tonnes annually. Employing cutting-edge continuous mass processing technology, this endeavor is underpinned by a steadfast commitment to reducing its carbon footprint. By harnessing clean energy to power its operations, Supreme Petrochem anticipates a remarkable reduction in carbon emissions, to the tune of 20,075 metric tonnes annually. The project is slated to transition into operational status within a mere eight months from the signing of the PDA agreement, heralding a rapid shift toward sustainability.
Mr. Ashish Khanna, CEO of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, expressed his enthusiasm for this collaborative effort, stating, “Our alliance with Supreme Petrochem Limited to establish a 12.5 MW captive solar project underscores our commitment to helping them meet their sustainable energy needs. We are dedicated to empowering multiple Commercial and Industrial (C&I) consumers with substantial energy requirements to embark on their green energy journey through tailor-made solutions.”
Mr. N. Gopal, Executive Director at Supreme Petrochem Limited, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the project's significance in the company's environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives. He remarked, “By securing clean energy through this pivotal PDA with Tata Power Renewable, we take a monumental stride toward mitigating carbon emissions and realizing our ESG objectives, with a paramount focus on environmental protection.”
