CleanCo has entered a strategic partnership with Central Power () to advance the 372MW Moah Creek project. This groundbreaking collaboration has received a A$500 million allocation from the Queensland Budget, earmarked for the development of sustainable energy ventures in Central Queensland.

The investment is instrumental in fulfilling Queensland's ambitious goals of achieving 70% renewable energy by 2032 and 80% by 2035. Moah Creek Wind Farm marks the initiation of a series of projects that could potentially scale up to 2.3GW under the collaboration between CleanCo and CQP.

CQP, a collaborative enterprise between RES Australia and Energy Estate, already has a track record of engaging in extensive renewable energy endeavors. They are actively working on a portfolio exceeding 4GW in wind, solar, and storage projects situated in Central Queensland.

As part of their shared objectives, CleanCo and CQP will undertake a comprehensive evaluation process to identify and prioritize projects that offer maximal benefits across multiple domains—environmental impact, community welfare, industrial considerations, and the broader renewable energy landscape in Queensland.

Tom Metcalfe, CEO of CleanCo, highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership. “Joining forces with CQP for the Moah Creek Wind Farm brings enormous value to our portfolio. This venture will empower us to offer bespoke clean energy solutions to our consumers and substantially accelerate Queensland's transition away from fossil fuels.”

, Director of CQP, echoed this sentiment. “We are thrilled to take this monumental step with CleanCo. The alliance unlocks tremendous potential to speed up Central Queensland's move to renewable energy and significantly contribute to meeting the state's aggressive renewable energy milestones.”

Both companies have expressed a strong commitment to engage closely with local landowners, indigenous communities, and other stakeholders. Their joint vision is not merely to produce energy, but to engender wide-ranging economic, environmental, and social advantages for the Central Queensland area.

The partnership between CleanCo and CQP serves as a crucial juncture in a larger A$500 million investment initiative, aiming to augment the Queensland SuperGrid, stimulate job creation, and supply clean, publicly-owned renewable energy across the state.
