Kallista Energy and Lhyfe Ink Deal for Wind-Powered Green Hydrogen in France

and Lhyfe have joined forces to channel wind energy into the production of . The collaboration is centered around a wind farm in Brachy, , , which has been operational for nearly 17 years and is owned by Kallista Energy.

The veteran wind park, featuring five turbines, is set to undergo significant upgrades. It will be repowered with state-of-the-art Vestas V126 wind turbines that will collectively produce 15MW. Remarkably, the revamped park will yield 70% more electricity while maintaining the same number of turbines.

This enhanced output will exclusively fuel Lhyfe's hydrogen production facilities, contributing to greener mobility solutions. Lhyfe, which has operated a production site in Pays de la Loire since 2021, is set to commission two more units in Brittany and Occitanie by year-end. These will add to Lhyfe's maximum total production capacity, pushing it to 4 tonnes of green and renewable hydrogen daily. Further expansions in the Central Loire Valley and eastern France have also been announced.

The corporate (PPA) for 15 years between Kallista Energy and Lhyfe ensures a stable and long-term green electricity supply. This will assist Lhyfe in building out its next production sites and offers competitive conditions for selling renewable hydrogen.

Matthieu Guesné, CEO and Founder of Lhyfe, lauded the agreement, stating, “This partnership with Kallista Energy enhances our portfolio of renewable energy suppliers and delivers an extra 46GWh of electricity annually for our upcoming production facilities.” Guesné further emphasized that such strategic alliances are accelerating the growth of the green hydrogen sector, which is crucial for reducing carbon emissions in both industry and transportation.
