Windward Offshore Consortium Orders CSOVs for Offshore Wind Industry Expansion

, a consortium spearheaded by the SeaRenergy Group in collaboration with Blue Star Group, Diana Shipping, and SeraVerse, has placed an order for two cutting-edge Commissioning Service Operation Vessels (CSOVs) from Vard. These specialized vessels are poised to play a pivotal role in the wind industry, supporting the consortium's mission to provide comprehensive offshore wind service solutions.

The primary focus of the consortium is to actively contribute to the ongoing energy transition by offering fully integrated solutions tailored to the offshore wind sector's unique needs.

CSOVs are central to the Windward Offshore strategy, as they are designed to serve as the core element for servicing wind farms during the crucial commissioning phase. SeaRenergy, one of the consortium members, emphasized that this approach aligns with their goal of delivering holistic solutions that encompass vessels, engineering, maintenance, and operational services.

, the owner of SeaRenergy, expressed enthusiasm about the consortium's commitment to advancing the energy transition. He stated, “The Rickmers family has now decided to – again – actively support the Energy Transition and be a first mover to ensure availability of attractive capacity in 2025 and beyond when the projects currently under planning and permitting will be installed and commissioned.”

Rickmers further underscored the significance of this strategic move, emphasizing that it positions them to provide customers and partners with state-of-the-art and future-proof offshore wind vessels. This investment reflects their confidence in the potential of the offshore wind industry.

The initial CSOV, custom-designed for efficient and sustainable support operations within offshore wind farms, is scheduled for delivery in 2025. This forward-looking investment demonstrates the consortium's dedication to contributing to the growth and success of the offshore wind sector as it plays a crucial role in the global transition to cleaner energy sources.
