(SSGC) Alternate Energy (Pvt) Limited (SSGC-AE) and (Pvt) Limited have solidified their collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The partnership aims to harness the potential of “Green Molecules” by promoting the production and utilization of (RNG).

The MoU, signed by Imran Maniar, Chairman of SSGC-AE, and Shoaib Feroz, CEO of Green Waste Energy, signifies a pivotal step towards enhancing sustainable energy practices in the region. The signing ceremony, held at the SSGC Head Office on October 6th, was attended by key representatives from both organizations, including Acting DMD (Operations and UFG) at SSGC, Saeed Rizvi, and Director Zia Naqi representing Green Waste Energy. Khwaja Huzaifa, Consultant at Bridge Factor, was also present.

Under the terms of this agreement, Green Waste Energy will be responsible for supplying /biomethane to SSGC-AE. The collaborative vision involves Green Waste Energy utilizing waste materials to produce biogas/biomethane through biogas plants. This eco-friendly gas will subsequently be offered for purchase by SSGC-AE, which will oversee its local distribution to third-party entities.

SSGC-AE has been actively encouraging prospective investors and project developers in the market to engage in the production of biogas and biomethane. This partnership represents a significant stride towards augmenting gas supplies, particularly in the face of diminishing gas reserves.

Remarkably, this marks the first instance of a gas utility company, through its subsidiary, taking steps to integrate renewable natural gas into its network through biogas and biomethane, underscoring the growing emphasis on sustainable energy sources.

Both SSGC-AE and Green Waste Energy envision this collaboration as a catalyst for advancing solutions and bolstering the region's commitment to environmentally responsible energy practices.
