The proposed Peartree Hill Solar Farm is earmarked for an eastern location near Beverley in East Riding, Yorkshire. The initial consultation period for this ambitious project is set to run from October 9th to November 6th, 2023.

Peartree Hill Solar Farm encompasses several areas of land connected by a network of underground cables. The northernmost part of the site is situated northwest of Leven, while the remainder extends across land between the villages of Tickton, Riston, Wawne, Weel, and Woodmansey.

Although still in its early stages, the project developer is committed to preserving and enhancing natural habitats and species while striving to achieve “ net gain” through new planting and habitat creation. The project also envisages improved public access, with enhancements such as public footpaths, wildflower meadows, picnic areas, information boards, and educational trails.

In a significant gesture of community support, JBM Solar intends to establish a £4.2 million community benefit fund. The fund will contribute to local causes and initiatives, and the developer is actively seeking feedback from the community to ensure it aligns with their needs.

Mike Greslow, Development Project Manager, emphasized the importance of community engagement, stating, “Our plans for Peartree Solar Farm are at an early stage, and we strongly encourage the community to actively participate in the consultation process. Local insight and feedback will go a long way in helping to shape the proposals.”
