Voltalia Surpasses 2GW in Installed Operational Capacity with Sud Vannier Wind Farm

, a prominent player in the sector, has celebrated a significant milestone as its installed operational capacity has now exceeded 2 gigawatts (GW). This achievement comes on the heels of the successful commissioning of the in France.

The Sud-Vannier wind farm, with a capacity of 23.6 megawatts (MW), is situated in Haute-Marne, approximately 25 kilometers southeast of Langres and 65 kilometers northeast of Dijon. It has recently reached full operational status, marking a noteworthy accomplishment for Voltalia.

One distinctive aspect of the Sud-Vannier project is its role in supplying renewable electricity to Leroy Merlin, marking the first corporate wind (PPA) ever signed for a new asset in France, according to Voltalia.

Sébastien Clerc, Chief Executive of Voltalia, expressed his satisfaction with these developments, stating, “Following the successful activation of the SSM3-6 solar power plant earlier this month, injecting 260 megawatts into the grid, the Sud Vannier wind farm has now reached its full operational capacity. We are very pleased to announce that our fleet of operating power plants has now crossed the threshold of two gigawatts.”

This remarkable achievement represents a three-fold increase since Voltalia set its 2023 target back in 2019 and signifies a 19% growth since June 30th.

Clerc also extended his gratitude to the various teams involved in the development, construction, operations, and support functions, highlighting their dedication over the past four years.
