Nordex, a player in wind turbine manufacturing, has clinched two significant contracts to supply and install a total of 20 Delta4000 series wind turbines for undisclosed projects in Italy. The contracts also include a decade-long Premium service agreement for the maintenance of these wind turbines.
The client's identity and project names have been kept confidential at their request, adding an element of intrigue to the announcement. These wind farms will be situated in the picturesque Apulia region, known for its scenic beauty and now poised to contribute to Italy's renewable energy landscape.
The Nordex Group plans to deploy a mix of wind turbine models, including 7 N163/6.X wind turbines, 4 N163/5.X wind turbines, and 9 N163/6.X wind turbines, to maximize energy production efficiency. These turbines will be mounted on steel tube towers, with hub heights ranging from 108 to 113 meters, a testament to Nordex's commitment to harnessing the full potential of wind resources.
The timeline for this ambitious project sees the installation of these wind turbines commencing in the summer of 2024, with commissioning slated for the year's end. This endeavor aligns with Italy's efforts to increase its renewable energy capacity and reduce its carbon footprint.
Nordex Group's impressive track record in the wind energy sector underscores its expertise. Having installed over 44 GW of wind energy capacity across more than 40 markets, the company is a formidable player in the field. In 2022, Nordex generated revenues amounting to €5.7 billion, further solidifying its position in the industry.
Currently employing approximately 9,000 professionals, the Nordex Group boasts a robust manufacturing capacity, with factories strategically located in Germany, Spain, Brazil, the United States, India, and Mexico. Their product portfolio primarily focuses on onshore turbines ranging from class 4 to 6.X MW, tailored to cater to countries with limited space and regions facing grid capacity constraints.
