has successfully sold its in-development 115MW Anglarna project in . The undisclosed European utility has acquired this venture for a substantial €234 million (SEK 2.7 billion). This lucrative transaction is set to be recorded in the upcoming third quarter.

Anglarna, situated in the picturesque county of Falun, is poised to be a pioneering project, comprising a total of 18 turbines. OX2 took control of the project rights in May 2019, and this year marked a pivotal milestone with full permitting achieved in February. The construction phase is slated to commence in the fourth quarter of 2023, with commissioning scheduled for the close of 2026.

The Anglarna wind farm holds immense promise, with an estimated annual production capacity of approximately 346GWh. This impressive figure equates to the annual electricity consumption of around 69,000 households. The sale of Anglarna signifies a major step forward in the commitment to sustainable and clean energy solutions.

OX2's Chief Executive, Paul Stormoen, expressed his satisfaction with this strategic move, stating, “We are pleased with selling Anglarna and look forward to realizing the project. We are also grateful for a constructive cooperation with local stakeholders, which made this project possible. The wind farm will make a valuable addition in price area 3, where there is a great demand for more emissions-free electricity production. The sale process has also proved that there is a lot of interest among investors for this kind of project.”

Post-commissioning, OX2 will retain responsibility for the technical and commercial management of the Anglarna wind farm, a commitment that spans a significant 15-year agreement. This entails optimizing production and overseeing operations, further solidifying OX2's commitment to the sustainable future of energy generation.

The successful sale of Anglarna reinforces the growing global interest in renewable energy projects, emphasizing the pivotal role such initiatives play in addressing the growing demand for emissions-free electricity production. As construction gears up and the wind farm takes shape, it marks another promising step toward a cleaner, greener energy landscape in Sweden and beyond.
