Nordex Secures 30MW Turbine Order for Unnamed Wind Project in Romania

, a German manufacturer, has clinched a significant contract for a 30MW wind turbine order destined for a project in . The agreement encompasses the provision and installation of five N149/5.X turbines, coupled with a comprehensive 20-year service agreement.

The identity of the customer and specific project details, which are situated in the south-eastern region of Romania, remain confidential. The installation of these turbines is slated to commence in the forthcoming year.

Each of the N149/5.X turbines boasts a nominal output of 5.9 MW and will be mounted on tubular steel towers, reaching a hub height of 125 meters.

Patxi Landa, Chief Sales Officer at Nordex Group, expressed enthusiasm about this development, stating, “It is great to see that after years of constant installed capacity, we are now able to implement a new project in Romania.” He highlighted Romania's substantial wind energy potential in the southeast of Europe.

Nordex's presence in Romania is not new; the company has a history of engagement with the nation's wind energy sector. Landa noted, “With three wind farms totalling 100MW, we have been present in the country for years and also maintain two service points. This local know-how is another advantage for the new project, with the long-term service contract, to optimize the power generation of the .”

This recent contract underscores Nordex's commitment to leveraging its expertise in wind energy to contribute to Romania's landscape while further solidifying its position as a key player in the global wind turbine market.
