Red Sea Global Partners with EDF and Masdar for Sustainable Infrastructure at Amaala

has entered into a 25-year concession agreement with Électricité de (EDF) and to establish a comprehensive multi-utilities facility at the exquisite Amaala destination. This visionary project encompasses solar power and solutions, signifying a significant stride towards sustainability in the region.

Masdar, in a formal statement, highlighted that the off-grid renewable energy system destined for Amaala will facilitate uninterrupted, 24/7 power supply. Furthermore, it will support the operation of desalination and wastewater treatment plants, both of which will be entirely powered by renewable sources.

Red Sea Global Group CEO, John Pagano, emphasized the paramount role of sustainability at Amaala, stating, “Sustainability is a cornerstone of Amaala, and our new partnership with EDF and Masdar will drive us towards achieving a zero-carbon footprint once fully operational.”

The renewable supply system planned for the destination boasts an impressive capacity, capable of generating up to 410,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) annually. This sustainable energy source has the potential to provide electricity to approximately 10,000 households. Additionally, Amaala's commitment to eco-conscious energy is further underscored by the inclusion of a substantial 700 MWh battery storage facility.

Importantly, the parties involved in this landmark project retain the option to extend the concession deal, as disclosed by Masdar.

Amaala, with its ambitious vision, aims to deliver a 30% net conservation benefit to local ecosystems by the year 2040. This commitment reflects its dedication to not only luxurious living but also environmental preservation.

Anticipated to open its doors in early 2025, Amaala's initial phase will focus on the Triple Bay master plan. Upon completion, this opulent destination will feature over 3,900 hotel rooms spread across 29 hotels, as well as 1,200 high-end residential homes and a diverse range of retail establishments. This venture promises a harmonious blend of luxury, sustainability, and natural beauty.

This collaboration between Red Sea Global, EDF, and Masdar signifies a significant milestone in the journey towards sustainable, eco-conscious development, poised to leave an indelible mark on Amaala and set a commendable example for future endeavors in the region.
