Global Wind Projects and Global Crane Services Invest in New Liebherr LG 1750 Crane to Meet Growing Wind Sector Demand

Global Wind Projects, in collaboration with its sister company Global Crane Services, has announced a substantial multi-million-pound investment in acquiring a state-of-the-art . This remarkable 750-tonne lattice boom mobile crane combines the versatility of a 750-tonne crawler model with the agility of a high-speed mobile unit. The addition of this exceptional piece of machinery strengthens the company's existing fleet, which includes an LG 1750, LR 1750, TC 2800, and over 60 telescope cranes ranging from 25 tonnes to 750 tonnes, strategically positioning them to cater to the surging demand within the wind sector.

Primarily intended for deployment on wind projects, the dual-branded LG 1750 will also play a pivotal role in supporting Global Crane Services' heavy lifting requirements at their Port of Nigg base and throughout the United Kingdom and .

Ryan Burke, the General Manager, expressed the significance of this investment, stating, “The purchase of this new Liebherr LG 1750 doubles our capability for specific wind project requirements, so it's a hugely significant investment for the company.”

Burke further revealed that the new crane has already embarked on its inaugural mission in Ireland, where it was employed to install five onshore turbines for Nordex at ABO Wind Ireland's Sheskin in County Mayo. Subsequently, the crane will be relocated to County Offaly to aid in the installation of 29 onshore turbines at SSE's , further solidifying its role in facilitating the growth of Global Wind Projects and meeting the burgeoning demand for onshore wind crane and installation services.
