Geoquip Marine, a specialist in geotechnical data, has commenced essential survey work to support the development of the MarramWind floating offshore off the Aberdeenshire coast in Scotland. This significant project is a collaborative effort between and Shell.

In a pivotal role, Geoquip Marine will conduct a comprehensive geotechnical investigation to gather crucial soil and geotechnical data. This data will form the foundation of an engineering ground model vital for conducting feasibility studies. These studies encompass the design and installation assessments of key components, including anchors for the floating platforms, fixed foundations for the offshore substation, and inter-array cable systems.

The survey work is currently underway, utilizing Geoquip's Seehorn , with plans to continue into 2024. This extended effort will include down-hole investigations employing one of Geoquip Marine's Integrated Geotechnical Survey vessels (IGSV).
