SeaRenergy, a leading offshore energy services provider, has been selected by Iberdrola to undertake vital service scopes for the Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm located in the German Baltic Sea. The contract encompasses two distinct areas, reinforcing SeaRenergy's reputation as a trusted partner in the renewable energy sector.
Under the agreement, SeaRenergy will be responsible for a range of crucial tasks, including inspection services, maintenance, and repair works on monopiles and transition pieces. Additionally, the company will provide client representatives throughout all phases of the Baltic Eagle installation process.
The execution of the project commenced in April 2023 and is slated to continue until the project's completion in late 2024. SeaRenergy's client representatives will play a pivotal role in overseeing the installation of monopiles and transition pieces, as well as supporting seabed preparation, cabling works, and the final installation of wind turbines, including towers and nacelles.
A comprehensive suite of services is included in the agreement, covering essential inspection, maintenance, and repair work during the construction phase of the wind farm. SeaRenergy will also be responsible for creating risk assessments and method statements, managing tool and equipment logistics, coordinating the project site, and deploying highly skilled offshore professionals.
Situated northeast of Rugen Island in the German Baltic Sea, the Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm, owned by Iberdrola Germany, occupies an expansive area of nearly 43 square kilometers. The project will feature a total of 50 wind turbines, which will be installed in water depths ranging from 40 to 45 meters.
Dr. Benjamin Vordemfelde, Managing Director of SeaRenergy, expressed his satisfaction with the new contract: “Following our successful collaboration on the Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm, we are delighted to once again be awarded a significant contract by Iberdrola. This demonstrates the trust Iberdrola has in our services and allows SeaRenergy to further strengthen our presence in the Baltic Sea, particularly in the Sassnitz region.”
The partnership between SeaRenergy and Iberdrola represents a significant milestone in the development of the Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm, as both companies continue to contribute to the growth of renewable energy and the transition to a more sustainable future.
