Assystem to Conduct Pre-Development Studies for Seven Solar Photovoltaic Parks in Saudi Arabia

International engineering company Assystem has been selected by ENOWA () to undertake a comprehensive suite of pre-development studies for seven planned (PV) parks in . This significant partnership aims to drive NEOM's vision of establishing itself as the world's foremost advanced hub and the pioneer of a fully renewable electrical system at scale.

Assystem will deploy its team of experts to provide a wide range of services, including a site assessment study, preliminary park design and master planning, environmental baseline surveys, as well as an environmental and social impact assessment, and permitting reports. The company will also conduct various studies such as geotechnical, geophysical, topographical, hydrological, glint and glare, and corrosion assessments, in addition to energy yield calculations and advanced park design.

Spanning across the Tabuk and Duba regions, the designated sites cover an expansive area of 420 square kilometers, with a potential energy generating capacity exceeding 20GW, accounting for approximately 65% of the total land use.

Kerem Sadiklar, Assystem's global head of siting and environmental services, expressed his enthusiasm about the project, stating, “This project marks one of the first steps towards realizing the deployment of solar PV on a truly massive scale – directly contributing to NEOM's ambitious 100% renewable energy goal. Assystem is proud to be delivering its high-quality siting and environmental services on behalf of such an exciting and significant initiative.”
