The Correll Group has recently secured a significant contract for the AC Submarine Cables pull in operations for two offshore substations: the 242MW Gode Wind 3 OWP Offshore Substation and the HVDC Offshore Substation DolWin kappa. This contract has been established in collaboration with Asso.subsea, an offshore installation company, and is a crucial component of the AC grid connection system on behalf of the end client, TenneT.
TenneT, serving as the transmission system operator, holds the responsibility for the grid connection of Gode Wind 3, which entails providing the grid connection as an HVDC line. In this context, the AC connection plays a vital role in linking the wind farm to the converter platform situated at sea.

The main contract for this endeavor, encompassing engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning (EPIC), has been awarded to Zhongtian Technology Submarine Cable Co., adding further expertise to the project.
Positioned in the German North Sea, Gode Wind 3 finds itself approximately 32 kilometers northwest of the island of Norderney within cluster 3 and falls under the country's exclusive economic zone (EEZ).
Anticipated to be fully operational by 2024, the offshore wind farm will provide clean, environmentally friendly energy to around 250,000 German households.
Sam Dowey, the managing director of Correll, expressed great satisfaction with the new contract, stating, “It is extremely satisfying to be awarded our second export cable pull in contract from Asso.subsea, and we very much look forward to continuing to grow our partnership with them on future projects.”

Dowey further added, “This contract complements previous awards from ZTT Cables, where Correll was contracted to perform platform cable routing, termination & testing of 155kV subsea cables associated with the AC grid connection systems, on both Kaskasi II & Gode Wind 3 Offshore Wind Farms.”
