Paolo Casciotti, the president of Seas Geosciences, expressed his commitment to generating clean energy from the oceans in the most sustainable manner possible. “Our goal is to create a complete map of the activities beneath the seabed, prioritizing environmental safety and the well-being of our personnel,” Casciotti stated. With this approach, they aim to ensure that the project harnesses the power of the ocean while minimizing any potential risks to the marine ecosystem.

Seas Geosciences plans to deploy its state-of-the-art robotic seafloor drill and cone penetration testing technology, reaching depths of up to 40 meters below the seafloor in waters exceeding 900 meters deep. These activities will provide valuable geotechnical information about potential geohazards in the Sicily Channel, where the wind farm project is located.

The acquired data will enable Renexia to define and design the most suitable seabed anchoring systems for the wind turbines, ensuring the utmost consideration for the surrounding ecosystem. By collaborating with Seas Geosciences, Renexia aims to develop a wind farm that not only generates clean energy but also maintains ecological balance.

Seas Geosciences has also partnered with Argo, an Italian company, to provide the vessel that will serve as the base for the seafloor exploration. This collaboration will leverage the expertise of both companies, combining their strengths to achieve the project's objectives effectively.
