RES Selected as Asset Manager for UK’s First Transmission-Connected Solar Farm

RES, in collaboration with and , has been awarded a contract to provide asset management services for the UK's inaugural transmission-connected solar farm. The agreement entails RES overseeing the operations of Cero and Enso's Larks Green solar farm, a groundbreaking 49.9MW project located in South Gloucestershire that commenced full energization in May 2023.

This pioneering initiative has the capacity to power over 17,300 households, while concurrently reducing CO2 emissions by 20,500 tonnes annually when compared to conventional energy generation methods. The solar () plant will be co-located with a 49.5MW/99MWh energy storage system, both of which will connect to the transmission network utilizing the same connection point as the solar farm.

Darren Cook, Asset Management Director at RES, expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with a new client and contributing to the UK's pursuit of a net-zero future. Cook stated, “We are eager to utilize our in-house expertise to deliver comprehensive asset management now that the Larks Green site is operational.”

Marta Sanchez Lopez, Portfolio Director at Cero Generation, expressed delight in RES joining the project as the appointed asset manager for Larks Green Solar Farm. Sanchez Lopez emphasized their satisfaction with RES's capabilities thus far and their anticipation for further collaboration as the project progresses.

Ian Harding, Co-Founder and Director at Enso Energy, remarked on the achievement of successfully developing the Lark's Green project from its inception to full operation. He emphasized the significance of RES, a reputable asset management company, joining forces to optimize the ongoing performance of the Lark's Green site. This partnership will enable Enso Energy to focus on developing and constructing additional sites within their portfolio.

With RES taking on the responsibility of asset management, this milestone project marks a significant step forward in the UK's renewable energy landscape. The collaboration between RES, Cero Generation, and Enso Energy demonstrates a shared commitment to clean energy production and supports the nation's sustainable energy goals.
