Nervion Naval Offshore, a subsidiary of Amper Group, has been awarded a contract to build components and carry out assembly work for the offshore wind jackets at the Dieppe le Treport project in France. The project, with a capacity of 496MW, involves the construction of 62 wind turbines supported by jackets on the seabed.
Under the contract, Nervion will be responsible for the prefabrication of metal components such as nodes and secondary steel, as well as the assembly of the jackets. The contract was awarded by a joint venture comprising Navantia Seanergies and Windar, who are manufacturing the jackets for the wind farm.
The project is scheduled to take place between 2023 and 2025 at the Navantia Fene facilities in A Coruna, Spain. This contract will significantly increase the workload of Nervion Naval Offshore, which currently employs over 500 workers. To meet the demands of the project, the company will need to substantially increase its workforce in the near future.
Enrique Lopez, the CEO of Amper Group, expressed the company's ambitions in the energy and sustainability sector. They aim to become a major player in the design and construction of structures and electrical substations for offshore wind farms. By contributing to the creation of a Spanish business ecosystem in this field, they seek to establish themselves as a comprehensive global supplier for offshore wind energy infrastructure construction.
This contract marks another significant step in the development of offshore wind energy, contributing to the growth of renewable energy sources and promoting sustainability in the industry.
