OX2 and Tuulialfa Collaborate to Develop 1200MW Onshore Wind Portfolio in Northern Ostrobothnia and Lapland

OX2, a company, has recently announced a significant partnership with , a Finnish firm, to embark on an ambitious venture in Northern Ostrobothnia and Lapland. The collaboration entails the development and construction of a colossal wind portfolio, boasting a staggering capacity of 1200 megawatts (MW).

This groundbreaking agreement encompasses the establishment of six wind farms, encompassing approximately 150 cutting-edge wind turbines. Each will contribute to the overall goal of sustainable energy generation, aiding in the transition towards a greener future.

Under the terms of the agreement, Tuulialfa will spearhead the project development efforts, while OX2 will assume responsibility for crucial aspects such as financing, procurement, construction, and operation. Additionally, the two entities are diligently working together on the Turkselkä site located in Vaala.

It is expected that the projects covered by this momentous collaboration will be primed for investment between the years 2025 and 2028. The chosen locations for these developments include Utajärvi, Pudasjärvi, Oulu, Kittilä, and Kuusamo, all strategically situated in the region.

Although the sites are presently in the planning phase, they will soon be integrated into OX2's extensive project portfolio, showcasing the company's commitment to expanding its renewable energy endeavors.

Antti Tanskanen, the CEO of Tuulialfa, expressed utmost satisfaction regarding the long-term agreement, stating, “We are very pleased with the long-term agreement with 's most significant onshore wind power developer.” Tanskanen emphasized the complementary nature of the partnership, stating, “The cooperation complements Tuulialfa's expertise in an excellent way. Now, together with OX2, we can also prepare the construction and production phase of the projects already in the permit phase.” Tanskanen further emphasized the positive impact of this collaboration, noting, “This speeds up the progress of projects into functional wind farms that benefit regions and society.”

With this visionary collaboration between OX2 and Tuulialfa, the renewable energy landscape in Northern Ostrobothnia and Lapland is set to undergo a remarkable transformation. The concerted efforts of these two industry leaders will not only pave the way for the creation of state-of-the-art wind farms but also contribute significantly to the sustainable development of the regions and society at large.
