Semco Maritime Expands its Offshore Wind Service Business with Acquisition of Wind Multiplikator

Semco Maritime, a leading provider of engineering solutions for the energy sector, has announced its of , a renowned full-service provider based in . The agreement includes the incorporation of Wind Multiplikator's subsidiary, OWS Off-Shore Wind Solutions, further bolstering Semco Maritime's comprehensive service offerings.

Wind Multiplikator specializes in the of wind farms, project management, and the provision of engineering and consulting services. With this acquisition, Semco Maritime's combined service business will now operate with a team of 455 highly skilled employees, covering the entire offshore wind service value chain.

The primary focus of the merged group will be on offshore wind operations and maintenance (O&M), particularly in the areas of major component exchanges (MCE) and major component repairs (MCR). This strategic move solidifies Semco Maritime's position as a leading player in the offshore wind industry.

Wind Multiplikator boasts a workforce of 250 professionals based in Bremen, with an additional operational center in Emden. Their facilities include an impressive 25,000 square meters of indoor hall space, 28,000 square meters of storage space, and a holding area of approximately 167,000 square meters. The service hub, equipped with a 450-tonne gantry crane, provides direct access to the North Sea.

The integration of the two companies brings together highly complementary service portfolios that span engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts, project management, and operational management of offshore wind farms. This collaboration will result in an even stronger offering to customers, providing seamless solutions for their offshore wind projects.

Steen Brødbæk, the CEO of Semco Maritime, expressed his enthusiasm for the acquisition, emphasizing the expertise and experience of the Wind Multiplikator team. He stated, “We are excited about this acquisition and look forward to combining our strengths to build a true powerhouse in offshore wind service. This will enable us to offer our customers an even stronger range of world-class services.”

Michael Munder-Oschimek, the CEO and founder of Wind Multiplikator Group, also shared his optimism regarding the partnership. He highlighted the strong market presence and growth prospects of Wind Multiplikator, stating, “We are pleased to join Semco Maritime to accelerate our positive developments, unlock further growth opportunities, and expand our range of world-class services. Together, we will provide our customers with a wider range of solutions.”

The management structure of Wind Multiplikator Group will remain unchanged following the transaction. The group will now operate under the brand name “Wind Multiplikator powered by Semco Maritime.” This collaboration marks a significant milestone for Semco Maritime as it aligns with the company's Sustainable Growth strategy and underscores its commitment to delivering integrated services in the renewables sector.
