Shell Expands Presence in Spain’s Solar Power Market with Acquisition of 12 Projects

In a significant move that solidifies its position in the sector, energy giant has recently acquired 12 solar projects in . These projects, totaling an impressive 1100MW, have been purchased from , a prominent Spanish player in the industry.

Spanning across various regions in the country, the follows a Framework Agreement signed in 2022 between Shell and Isemaren, further emphasizing their commitment to green investment and ecological transition.

The inclusion of these projects in Shell's portfolio not only bolsters its presence but also strengthens its foothold in one of Europe's largest solar power markets. Thomas Brostrøm, the Vice President of Shell's global renewable generation, expressed his enthusiasm about the development, stating, “Bringing these assets into our portfolio strengthens our presence in one of Europe's largest solar power markets. Óscar Fernández, the Chairman and Business Manager of Shell Spain, also welcomed the deal, highlighting its significance for the company's growth in Spain's thriving solar power market. “It's exciting news and further strengthens Shell's presence and portfolio in Spain, one of Europe's largest solar power markets,” he remarked.
