, a energy company, has recently inaugurated a remarkable 66MWp farm in Sicily, . This impressive facility aims to provide electricity to support the operations of renowned online retailer within the country. Combining production with agricultural farming, the solar park stands as one of the largest agrovoltaic parks ever constructed in Italy. What sets it apart is that it represents the first agrovoltaic project in Italy established through a corporate Power Purchase Agreement between two private companies.

Another agrovoltaic park, also located in Sicily, is anticipated to commence energy production by the year's end. When both facilities are operational, they will boast a collective production capacity of 104MWp, further advancing Italy's renewable energy sector.

Despite the challenging backdrop of a global crisis, Engie remains committed to its decarbonization journey and the pursuit of energy transition. Monica Iacono, CEO of ENGIE Italia, expressed that the Mazara del Vallo agrovoltaic plant aligns perfectly with Engie's strategic objectives both in Italy and worldwide. Notably, Engie already possesses 500MW of renewable installed capacity in Italy, and they aspire to reach a remarkable 2GW by 2030 through a combination of wind and photovoltaic plants.

To accomplish these ambitious goals, Engie emphasizes the importance of maintaining a continuous and harmonious relationship with local communities and institutions. They also stress the need for a stable and simplified legislative and regulatory framework, which they hope will be defined in the near future. With their ongoing efforts and expansion plans, Engie is playing a crucial role in driving Italy's renewable energy growth while contributing to a more sustainable future.
