Malaysian Aviation Group Partners with Petronas Dagangan to Promote Sustainable Aviation Fuel in Malaysia

Malaysian Aviation Group () and Petronas Dagangan have joined forces to establish a (SAF) offtake agreement, aiming to advance the production of green fuel on a commercial scale within . In an announcement made on Friday, the two companies revealed their collaborative efforts to develop and supply more than 230,000 tonnes of SAF to MAG's airlines, which include the national carrier Malaysia Airlines, as well as Firefly and .

The initial delivery of sustainable aviation fuel is anticipated to take place in 2027, starting at the Kuala Lumpur International . MAG's chief sustainability officer, Philip See, highlighted the progressive implementation plan, stating that they intend to gradually introduce SAF on selected scheduled services from 2027 onwards.

The production of this eco-friendly aviation fuel will take place at Petronas' co-processing plant located in the state of Malacca, according to the joint statement released by the companies.
