UKA, a German energy park developer, has secured a significant contract to construct around 20 wind turbines at Mercedes-Benz's test track in Papenburg, northern Germany. The project is expected to be completed by the middle of the decade.
This wind farm, with a capacity exceeding 120MW, will play a crucial role in supplying renewable energy to Mercedes-Benz Group AG in Germany. Through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), it will cater to approximately 20% of the company's annual electricity needs.
In addition to the wind turbines, there are also plans to explore the installation of photovoltaic systems on the test track. The examination of this possibility highlights the commitment towards sustainable energy generation.
