TGS and Kongsberg Gruppen Form Strategic Collaboration to Advance Offshore Wind Solutions

and Gruppen have recently joined forces in a strategic collaboration aimed at developing integrated data and digital solutions for the offshore wind industry. This partnership aims to enhance the efficiency of data usage and digitalization in order to facilitate the rapid expansion of offshore wind projects.

Forecasts indicate that the global offshore wind installed base is projected to increase more than fourfold between 2023 and 2030. To support and catalyze this growth, TGS and Kongsberg have signed a memorandum of understanding, outlining their commitment to working together in developing solutions that address the specific requirements of offshore wind clients. Additionally, the collaboration will involve engaging with leading offshore wind developers.

The primary objective of this partnership is to combine high-quality data with digital solutions that are accessible, modular, scalable, and supportive of an open ecosystem. TGS specializes in energy data acquisition, asset , high-power computing, and data analytics, while Kongsberg focuses on sensors, marine robotics, automation, industrial digital twins, and collaboration tools.

Kristian Johansen, the CEO of TGS, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “We are pleased to announce this strategic cooperation, which will leverage our collective expertise to deliver high-quality data and digital solutions for the offshore wind industry.
