RES said it has surpassed 3GW of solar and battery energy storage systems under operations and maintenance (O&M) contracts in Northern Europe, reflecting continued growth in the region’s renewable asset base.
The company said it now manages about 4GW of renewable energy capacity under O&M agreements across Northern Europe, including projects in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Poland, Norway and Sweden.
According to the company, the portfolio includes more than 3GW of solar and battery energy storage capacity and around 1GW of wind assets. RES said solar and storage account for roughly 3.4GW of the renewable assets it operates and maintains across the region.
Globally, the firm supports more than 45GW of renewable energy capacity across wind, solar and storage technologies.
RES said it has been providing battery energy storage system (BESS) asset management services in the UK since 2018 and currently delivers services across 18 BESS projects in Northern Europe with a combined installed capacity exceeding 1.5GW.
“As solar and storage capacity continues to scale rapidly across Northern Europe, asset owners are increasingly focused on performance, reliability and long-term value,” said Juan Gutiérrez, chief executive officer of services at RES.
“Passing the 3GW milestone for solar and BESS under O&M demonstrates both the strength of our regional portfolio and the trust our customers place in RES to deliver high-quality operational support,” he added.
RES also reported significant growth in its UK portfolio in 2025, increasing the number of contracted solar and battery storage assets from 160 to 242 while expanding total capacity from 1.4GW to 3.4GW.
Recent contract wins include an O&M agreement for the 373MW Cleve Hill Solar Park, an asset management contract for the 500MW/1GWh Coalburn battery storage facility and the renewal of a five-year O&M contract covering 11 solar PV sites in the UK with a combined capacity of 121MW for The Renewables Infrastructure Group.
RES said its operations are supported by a digital solutions division launched in 2024 that provides remote monitoring, predictive maintenance and performance analytics for renewable assets.
