Greenvolt Power has secured a €348 million financing package to support construction of the 253-MW Ialomita wind project in south-eastern Romania, the company said.
The deal was arranged with a banking consortium comprising UniCredit Bank, Erste Group Bank, Raiffeisen Bank, Société Générale, BRD and Siemens Bank, and includes ancillary facilities.
Greenvolt Group, through its subsidiary Greenvolt Power, has also signed a sale agreement with Engie Romania for completion at commercial operation date (COD) in 2027. The developer will remain responsible for construction and commissioning until then.
“A project of this scale and characteristics naturally requires significant capital and a strong financial structure, which we have once again secured from leading financial institutions,” said João Manso Neto, chief executive of Greenvolt Group.
“Their support clearly reflects confidence in our execution capabilities and in our ability to deliver,” he added.
Adrian Góralski, director of M&A and project finance at Greenvolt Power, said the financing package reflects the project’s strategic importance.
“This joint effort has resulted in the development of a financing structure that is fully aligned with the scale and technical complexity of the asset, while ensuring the efficient allocation of the capital needed to move forward with the construction of a landmark project for both Greenvolt and Romania,” Góralski said.
The Ialomita wind farm is part of the 506-MW Wind Rose platform, one of Romania’s largest private renewable energy initiatives currently under development.
Greenvolt Group said it also maintains a broader Romanian pipeline totalling 555 MW of wind, 77 MW of solar and 156 MW of battery energy storage capacity, alongside distributed generation activity through Greenvolt Next.
