China-based manufacturer CWHI has completed delivery of all 30 transition pieces for the Inch Cape offshore wind farm, following the load-out and departure of the final batch to the Port of Leith, the company said.
The last 15 units were shipped in February 2026 aboard the COSCO vessel Hua Xing Long, building on an initial batch delivered in November 2025. CWHI said the project makes it the first supplier from China to deliver fully commissioned transition pieces for an offshore wind project, describing the milestone as significant for the industry.
Production of the transition pieces began in January 2025, with 18 of the 30 units fully released by October 2025. During the programme, CWHI said it achieved safety milestones of 500,000, 1.2 million and 1.8 million working hours.
Each transition piece stands up to 28 metres tall, with an outer diameter of 8.3 metres and a weight of around 600 tonnes, according to the company.
“The completion of this project reinforces CWHI’s role as a trusted global supplier of offshore wind foundation structures,” the company said.
Tina Xu, chairwoman and chief executive of CWHI, said the project was completed to schedule and quality targets. “We celebrate the conclusion of our biggest Transition Piece project to date — a total of 30 TPs for Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm — all completed on schedule and delivered to the highest standards,” Xu said.
She added that the achievement reflected close collaboration across CWHI’s manufacturing yards.
